Chris Ferris & Dancers will perform excerpts from the Rampaging Light suite plus, our newest work If This Were Not Real. Rampaging Light, is dance existing in parallel worlds; framed in time shattered between reality and dreams; and the magical mishaps that you thought didn’t happen but did. You are held and released by the silent step, soundless wind, screaming train, and buzzing wall of voices. This is performance that will alter your perception of a single room and the flipping numbers on your clock. Sometimes everything does not have to make sense. If This Was Not Real reaches out into the edges of finger tips and periphery of room. Space is marked, boundaries are created and the dancer as a single unit appears. This dance reflects alienation as a result of living in a time of hyper-connectivity. Ferris’ choreography is based on an exploration of movement from a sculptural, dynamic, and emotional point of view. Its focus is to bring you design in space with a human element. |
